For the past few years around the 18th of November, the High Street is closed, and a Victorian Evening is put on. St Mary's choir gathers and sings carols next to the Christmas tree before the lights are lit.

 

The Iain Rennie Hospice at Home provides care for patients and their families across the Bucks and Herts for the last 21 years. They look after some 800 people each year, by providing a free 24 hour service. To keep going they need to raise £2.7million pounds each year.

After the carols there is a short service then anyone who wishes can light a candle in memory of someone before the lights on the Christmas tree are put on.

 

As the candles are lit the people and the choir sing O Come, all ye faithful
