In the mid 90's St Mary's installed a sound system in the church.

It provides loudspeakers in the choir stalls and in the body of church and, most importantly, an induction loop for hearing aids.

Sound System ConsoleWe also play CDs and tapes. Under special circumstances we can record parts of a service, subject to our CCLI copyright licence.

We have socket points for free-standing microphones in the chancel area and at the west end of the church. The lectern and pulpit have their own microphones, as do the choir stalls. And we also have two radio microphones for use by the clergy.

The console is manned every Sunday 9.30 service and on special occasions.

The radio mikes are left on throughout a service, and the console operator mutes them as necessary. To let the clergy do their own switching on and off is a nightmare!

We have a limited rota of operators. Volunteers always welcome.
