History of the Church

A View of the North Aisle from the East End

On the walls there are many memorials.

On the west wall is one of a number of hatchments. A hatchment bore the coat of arms of influential families and was carried in funeral processions.

There is some Graffiti on the pillars that dates back hundreds of years

At the West End there is a Coffin Shield. This shield is most probably for a woman.

The North Aisle has many numbered pews. They are all similar but different. Each has a different pattern for the carvings and mouldings on them. Sometimes it has been seen that bats use some the pews as a place to rest.
